Postcard From the Edge of Hope

I'm standing on the rim of the world,
at the far edge of far,
next stop Japan.

I am thinking of you.

The news is bad.
It is very bad.

But the view is beautiful
from here.

I send you
a small postcard
of hope.

Believe in the essential goodness
of humankind.

Believe in Mother Earth
who, like us,
wants to live.

I stand on the edge
of the edge of the world.
I send you this
small postcard
of hope.

This little guy lives just off my small porch.
A small note of hope.

Yesterday, responding to one of my poems, Brendan thanked me for the postcard of hope, and that became this poem. Thank you, Brendan.

  1. Thank you, Sherry, for your vision.

  2. The news is bad, but then there are tulips! And postcards. I trust them.

  3. I love this, Sherry!!! Especially the opening.

  4. A small postcard of hope from a good friend makes that edge a little softer - thank you Sherry

  5. Well expressed feelings from a soul on a hill.

  6. Thank you, I receive the post card!

I so appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.
Thank you so much. I will be over to see you soon!
