One's Lot in Life

Wild Woman receives a message:

This is to inform you
that you did not win the lottery.
But, as a consolation prize,
you have won your lot in life.

It figures.
Did Wild Woman cannibalize someone,
last lifetime,
in order
to win this lifetime?

Methinks she may have mistreated her cleaning lady.
(Cackles.)

But then again, looking at her bay window,
all lit up with prisms and pretty lights,
candles, Pup's memorial,
and Ms. Jasmine snoozing below,
she thinks maybe she did win
the lottery,
after all.

  1. This is wonderful. It's all too easy to get so focused on the things we don't have that we lose sight of the things we do have. From all I have read on your beautiful blog, I'd say that, after all, you've been a big winner in the lottery of life.

  2. Yes, Sherry....one does have to put things in perspective sometime. There are always people who have more than you, but always people who have less.

Jas really does look like my Lindy, doesn't she? Aren't we both lucky?

  6. A warm and cozy lot it is and a lot of aches to prove it. :)

    Hope you're recovering today.

  7. *Chuckling too* There was a mistake somewhere. Our records don't show you won the lottery but all indications from the wealthy spirit you possess and your aura point towards you having won the lottery!

  8. Oh yes, indeed. Some lucky people may win a lottery, but other people are truly fortunate :)

  9. I like the idea that this life is a prize we won. Maybe the idea could change attitudes if it caught on.

  11. Yes, in some things we are rich beyond compare. A lovely list of the little things in life to be grateful for. If you won the lottery, you'd make sure you and yours were comfortably off and then (I suspect Like me) you'd give the rest away to charity and others in desperate need.
